Ms. Nelson formerly served as the President of the Board of Directors for the Chicago Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM). Chicago SHRM is one of the country’s largest HR professional societies and a leader in the advancement of human resource management. Previously, she led HR teams at Spot Trading, Ibbotson Associates (Morningstar) and Legacy Marketing Partners, consistently achieving organizational transformation by identifying the best talent to build a culture of engagement, agility, and innovation.
She serves on the Board of Directors for Project RELO, a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating business executives on the benefits of hiring military veterans. She is also the podcast co-host of Innovation and the Digital Enterprise where leaders from early-stage start-ups to billion-dollar enterprises distill their lessons from their victories and their failures. She also serves on the Chicago membership committee for the International Women’s Forum, which connects leaders across every professional sector in support of each other and the common mission of advancing women’s leadership and championing equality worldwide. Ms. Nelson graduated from Drake University and earned a master’s degree in HR Management from Keller Graduate School.
